As a therapist, I am interested in the difficulties that prevent us from reaching our highest potential, and how the defenses and habits that might have protected us at one time may now be interfering with our authentic experience of life.
My goal is to collaborate with you, in an effort to identify and remove these obstacles. In becoming aware of your habitual reactions, you can see where change can be effective, which empowers you to choose another way of responding. Understanding that change means stepping into the unknown, I will approach our work with deep respect for your interest and courage in this process.
I utilize a mind/body approach to psychotherapy, which recognizes the complex interrelationship between the mind and the body. My personal and professional experience with mindfulness strongly influences my practice. I have experience working with a variety of difficulties, with particular interests in anxiety, chronic pain, relationships, and eating disorders.
